Light Up a Life, 12/6/24
We feel truly grateful to be part of such a caring and supportive community here in Siskiyou County. Our 2024 Light Up a Life ceremony took place in Yreka on December 6th, with this year’s theme—the dragonfly—symbolizing the beautiful transition from one world to the next. It was a touching evening of remembrance and connection. If you couldn’t join us, or would like to revisit the event, we invite you to watch the video below.

Garden Party, 9/27/24
In September, we held our Bi-Annual Garden Party—a special evening to welcome the community to our grounds, share more about the work we do, and most importantly, to say thank you. We simply couldn’t do this vital work of providing compassionate end-of-life care without your ongoing support. This evening was our heartfelt way of saying: thank you for walking alongside us.
Art Auction , 3/17/25
Our Annual Art Auction was a vibrant celebration of creativity, community, and a whole lot of heart! With local artists, art lovers, live music, mouthwatering food—and a brand-new dessert auction that was a sweet success—we raised nearly $28,000 to support the Madrone Hospice House. The video below captures the magic of the night—take a look!

Death Cafe
At a Death Cafe, people, often strangers, gather to eat cake, drink tea, and discuss death. Our objective is to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their finite lives.
A Death Cafe is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives, or themes. It is a discussion group rather than a grief support or counseling session.

Volunteer Brunch
We host this annual Volunteer Brunch to express the heartfelt gratitude we feel for our devoted volunteers. We rely on volunteers to support our hospice patients, to help run our Thrift Shop and Heartisan Boutique, to tend our grounds, to help deliver meals, and more! We hope to have as many volunteers with us for this brunch as possible - if you would like to volunteer with us, please reach out: 530-842-3160.

Art Auction
Join us for a wonderful evening of champagne, a catered meal, wine, and an exciting auction of art and art objects produced by local creatives! Proceeds benefit the homelike environment and hospice care provided at our Madrone House. See you there!
